At CES this year, Sony had a surprisingly interesting showing, which included some PSVR2 information and the debut of a new accessibility control system. A major milestone was announced by the company- PS5 had hit 30 million consoles sold since its release in 2020.
Not only is Sony’s Jim Ryan willing to declare that the PS5 shortage should be over, but he is also willing to take a step further.
He said that everyone who wants a PS5 should have a much easier time finding one at retailers globally, starting from this point forward.
“Sony has faced some unprecedented challenges over the past two years, and Ryan thanked fans for bearing with them during that time. Those challenges were mostly due to a chip and component shortage which made the PS5 exceptionally hard to find. Even now, eons after release, the PS5 is still selling out instantly when it pops up online.” It has been unthinkable until now, but you may be able to go to a local store and buy one off the shelf.
