The city of Memphis witnessed a shocking incident involving a repo man who was run over by a driver trying to evade a tow. The incident, captured on video, showcases the dangerous and sometimes violent nature of the repo business.
The repo man was in the process of hooking up a red 2011 Ford Focus to tow it away when another man, wearing a green shirt, rushed to the driver’s door, started the car, and attempted to drive off. In a risky move, the repo man placed his head and torso under the car to secure the chain hook, putting himself in harm’s way.
As the driver accelerated in reverse, he ran over the repo man’s head, causing him to scream in pain. Despite this horrific incident, the driver continued on his reckless path, eventually driving off with the car after bumping into a wall and crashing through a bush.
The repo man sustained abrasions on his head and arm pain from the incident. He was hospitalized in non-critical condition, but the shocking ordeal left him visibly injured, as seen in photos shared online.
The Memphis Police Department is actively searching for the driver of the Ford Focus, who is facing a charge of aggravated assault for his reckless actions. The woman who was present at the scene and urged the driver to hurry up was not found when officers arrived, and the male suspect evaded police questioning.
