Rick Ross Car Show to Be Wheelchair-Friendly After Lawsuit

Rick Ross Makes His Car Show Wheelchair-Friendly After Lawsuit Pressure
Published on
Rick Ross faced legal challenges last year for not making his Car & Bike Show wheelchair-accessible, but he has now vowed to make this year’s event more inclusive for the disabled community.
Darris Straughter, a fan of Rick’s, took legal action against the rapper after the wheelchair-accessible shuttle bus he had arranged failed to show up at the event last August. Additionally, the bike show refused to refund his ticket, leading to a lawsuit.
After pressure from Straughter and other wheelchair users, Ross has agreed to provide round-trip wheelchair-accessible shuttle service for the upcoming car show in Fayetteville, Georgia. Guests will be dropped off at designated handicap parking spots to ensure accessibility for all attendees.
John Hoover, Straughter’s attorney, expressed gratitude towards his client and other wheelchair users for pushing for better accessibility at the event. He mentioned that the upcoming car show will even provide golf carts for wheelchair users, marking a significant step in the ongoing litigation.
Despite denying any wrongdoing, Ross has taken steps to improve accessibility at his car show. The ongoing litigation includes Straughter seeking damages for the alleged ordeal.
Rick Ross’ team has not responded to inquiries yet, but the 4th annual car show is still scheduled to take place on June 7, 2025, with improved access for all attendees.
It’s great to see efforts being made to ensure that events like the car show are inclusive and accessible to everyone. The more inclusive, the merrier!
