Russell Brand‘s recent legal troubles have resurfaced an old interview clip where he made controversial comments about his assistant’s willingness to do anything, including getting naked and massaging a radio DJ.
The interview, which aired on BBC 2 Radio in 2007, featured Brand chatting with media personality Jimmy Savile. During the conversation, Brand expressed his admiration for Savile and mentioned his assistant’s capabilities.
In response, Brand mentioned that his assistant, who he described as very attractive, is willing to greet, meet, and massage anyone he instructs her to. Savile jokingly invited the assistant to his home, suggesting she come wearing nothing at all, to which Brand agreed.
The controversial exchange took place before Savile’s death in 2011, as he was later revealed to be involved in multiple instances of sexual abuse during his lifetime.
Brand recently faced charges of rape, indecent assault, oral rape, and sexual assault as reported by the London’s Metropolitan Police Service.
Following Savile’s death, numerous individuals came forward with allegations of abuse against him, leading to the removal of his name from various establishments and the destruction of his gravestone.
Brand has not yet responded to the charges but previously denied any allegations of sexual assault, describing the reports as “very hurtful” in 2023.
Efforts to reach out to Brand for his comments on the resurfaced interview clip have been unsuccessful so far.
