Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE Delayed to After Flip 7 Launch

Samsung is facing challenges in the production of the Galaxy Z Flip FE processor, which may cause delays in the launch of its first affordable foldable phone.
According to a report from South Korean website The Bell, Samsung is struggling to produce enough of its new flagship chip, the Exynos 2500.
These production issues have already led to a change in plans for the global Samsung Galaxy S25 models, with the Snapdragon 8 Elite being used instead of the Exynos 2500 chip.
Now, with the ongoing production challenges, Samsung’s first affordable foldable phone could be impacted.
Samsung Flips its foldable plans
The report suggests that Samsung had initially planned to use the Exynos 2500 chip in the successor to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6. However, due to the increasing popularity of Samsung’s foldable range, the chip will now be featured in the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE instead of the Galaxy Z Flip 7.
With the production issues surrounding the chip, it appears that the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE may be delayed and will not happen alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7 in July as initially planned.
Instead, Samsung’s affordable foldable debut is expected to take place “several months later” according to the report.
Potential bad news for Galaxy S26 fans
Additionally, it has been reported that Samsung is working on the Exynos 2600 alongside the Exynos 2500. The aim is to have the new chip ready for the Samsung Galaxy S26 launch early next year. This could mean a return to the split chip offering for Galaxy S phones, with some regions receiving Qualcomm chips while others get Samsung’s chips.
The performance gap between Samsung’s chips and Qualcomm’s chips has been a point of contention in the past, with Qualcomm’s chips often being favored for their speed and efficiency. It remains to be seen if Samsung can bridge this performance gap with the new Exynos chips.
