Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs lawsuit dismissed after Jane Doe failed to reveal identity

A New York judge dismisses sexual assault lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs
A New York judge has recently dismissed one of the sexual assault lawsuits against Sean “Diddy” Combs after the alleged victim, identified only as “Jane Doe”, refused to publicly reveal her identity. US District Judge Lewis J. Liman made the ruling on Monday, stating that the woman had the opportunity to refile the lawsuit under her real name but chose not to do so.
The initial lawsuit, filed last October, alleged that the music mogul had assaulted the woman at a party in 1995 and later struck her when she rejected his advances. The woman’s attorney, Tony Buzbee, had requested to proceed with the case anonymously, a request that was met with objections from Combs’ legal team.
Despite the judge giving the woman a deadline to reveal her name by March 20 in order to continue with the case, she failed to do so. As a result, the case was dismissed by Judge Liman on Monday.
Combs’ legal team took the opportunity to discredit the alleged victim and other accusers who have come forward with claims of abuse against the Bad Boy Records founder. They stated that this was the second case brought by the same attorneys against Combs that had been dismissed and hinted that more would follow.

The dismissed lawsuit is part of a series of civil cases filed against the rapper following federal sex trafficking charges brought against him in September. Combs, who has pleaded not guilty to the charges and is scheduled to go to trial in May, is currently being held without bail in federal custody in Brooklyn.
