Senator Raphael Warnock Wins Georgia Runoff Over Herschel Walker
On Tuesday, Democrat Raphael Warnock, a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., won re-election to a full term in the Senate against GOP nominee Herschel Walker.
Now that he has won the Georgia runoff, Democrats have a majority of 51-49 in the Senate.
“I am honored to say the four most powerful words ever spoken in democracy: The people have spoken,” Warnock stated.
Warnock, who is a reverend at the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, is a Morehouse College graduate and a Fall 1993 initiate of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.’s Alpha Gamma Lambda Chapter in Harlem.
“As someone who is both Georgia-born and raised, as well as the senior pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church – the very church where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once preached – I understand that I am an example and an iteration of its history,” Warnock stated.
