According to clips Richardson shared to her Instagram page, track star Sha’Carri Richardson was recently recorded on an American Airlines plane and was later removed following an argument she had with a flight attendant.
Richardson revealed that an American Airlines flight attendant asked her to end a phone call before a flight. After she did so, Richardson remarked that she didn’t like the employee’s tone.
Richardson wrote on Instagram, “Tell me if I’ll be wrong to pursue legal actions against the airline.”
In Richardson’s clips, a flight attendant can be seen leaning into her camera’s sight, with passengers responding to her comments and other attendants informing her that the captain has asked for her removal.
“You can’t record,” the flight attendant tells Richardson in one clip.
“You’re harassing me at this point,” Richardson said in response. “I think you should stop.”
What happened before the videos were taken is unclear. “We were able to reaccomodate the customer on a later flight,” a spokesperson for American Airlines told NBC News. “A member of our team has reached out to learn more.”
After Odell Beckham Jr. got kicked off a flight from American Airlines last year, Richardson’s removal from a flight comes as no surprise.
The NFL free agent commented on Richardson’s posts about the flight, writing, “TELLL ME U GIT KICKED OFFF THE AMERICAN FLIGHT FOR NO REASON.”
The spokesperson for Richardson informed NBC News that at this time, she “has nothing to add.”
