Starbird Chicken picks Denver for first location in region

Welcome to Starbird – Coming Soon to Denver!

Starbird is making its way to Denver, set to open its doors at 965 S. Colorado Blvd. this summer.

Under the leadership of Daniel Wagner and the franchisee group Whiplash Holdings, Starbird has announced plans to bring seven of its popular fast-food restaurants to the metro Denver area. Wagner, formerly of local chain Birdcall, expressed optimism for the success of these new locations and hopes to expand even further in the future.

The group has already secured a 10-year lease for a 2,435-square-foot space on Colorado Boulevard, which will be shared with Einstein Bros. Bagels.

This marks Starbird’s first venture outside of California, where it currently operates 17 locations in Los Angeles and San Francisco. The chain has also inked franchise agreements in Salt Lake City, Chicago, and Washington state.

Founded in 2016, Starbird is known for its antibiotic-free poultry menu, offering items like chicken parm sandwiches, lemon pepper tenders boxes, and chopped salads.

David Schneider of Axio Commercial Real Estate facilitated the deal between Wagner’s group and the Florida-based landlord N.E.G Property Services. Wagner emphasized Starbird’s commitment to supporting community organizations and plans to work with the Denver Children’s Foundation and local high school programs.

With a focus on family-friendly locations, Wagner is confident that Starbird will thrive in the Denver market. He believes that the brand’s unique approach to fast food will be well-received by Denver residents.
