Teen arrested in fatal stabbing outside Barclays Center connected to citywide gang of thieves: cops

A recent incident outside Brooklyn’s Barclays Center has left the community in shock and mourning. The tragic event involved the fatal stabbing of 27-year-old Michael Hernandez by 18-year-old Noah Rentas, who was believed to be part of a citywide gang of thieves.

Rentas was apprehended by authorities at 8:10 a.m. for the murder of Hernandez. The attack took place late Friday night, with Rentas and three other teenagers allegedly involved in the stabbing. Hernandez sustained a single stab wound to the chest and multiple stab wounds to the back during the altercation.

Charged with second-degree murder and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, Rentas, surprisingly, has no prior criminal record. Sources indicate that the motive behind the attack may have been linked to a series of robberies carried out by the gang Rentas was associated with.

Although nothing was stolen from Hernandez during the incident, it is speculated that the robbery attempt may have gone wrong, resulting in the tragic outcome. Hernandez’s family was present at the 78th Precinct in Brooklyn when Rentas was taken into custody after the arrest.

The community is left reeling from the senseless violence that took place outside the Barclays Center, and authorities are working diligently to ensure justice is served in this case. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of addressing the root causes of crime and violence in our society.
