Tesla Recalls Over 46,000 Cybertrucks Due to Loose Exterior Panels Amid Growing Safety Concerns

Tesla has issued a major recall affecting more than 46,000 Cybertrucks in the United States, according to a report by CNBC. The recall impacts the vast majority of the controversial electric pickups currently on the road, raising fresh concerns about the vehicle’s safety and design.

The issue centers on the stainless-steel exterior panels, a hallmark of the Cybertruck’s futuristic look. Tesla revealed that certain panel components could detach while driving, posing serious road hazard risks to other vehicles and pedestrians.

To address the problem, Tesla will replace the rail assembly on affected Cybertrucks. However, the automaker notes that the repairs must be completed in person, potentially creating service delays for some owners.

This is just the latest in a string of recalls involving the Cybertruck, which has faced scrutiny since its launch for both mechanical issues and production delays. Tesla overall continues to represent a significant share of total vehicle recalls in the U.S., according to industry data.

As Tesla pushes forward with mass deliveries of its highly anticipated pickup, the company faces mounting pressure to resolve quality control issues and reassure consumers about long-term safety.
