Third Assassination Attempt on Donald Trump Thwarted at Coachella Rally
A man carrying a loaded gun and ammunition was arrested near Donald Trump’s rally in Coachella, California, on October 12, 2024, marking the third suspected assassination attempt on the former president this year. Law enforcement from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office apprehended the suspect, who was found with fake passports and several driver’s licenses in his unregistered vehicle. The man had passed through initial security before his disorganized vehicle raised suspicion.
Trump was not yet at the event when the arrest occurred. Federal officials, including the FBI and Secret Service, confirmed that despite the weapons, there was no immediate risk to Trump’s life or the attendees of the rally.
This incident follows two earlier assassination attempts in July and September 2024. While the suspect was released on bail, the authorities are continuing their investigation into his motives. The suspect is scheduled to appear in court in January 2025.
