Tostitos tortilla chips recalled after they may have been contaminated, Frito-Lay says

Frito-Lay has recently issued a recall of certain bags of Tostito’s tortilla chips due to potential contamination with undeclared products. Specifically, the recall applies to 13-ounce bags of Tostitos Cantina Traditional Yellow Corn Tortilla Chips, which may contain nacho cheese tortilla chips and therefore undeclared milk allergens. The company stressed that individuals without a dairy allergy or milk sensitivity can safely consume the product, and no allergic reactions have been reported in connection with the recall.

The recall affects a limited number of bags, totaling less than 1,300, with a list of affected lot numbers provided on the FDA’s website. These chips were sold in 13 states, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. The products would have been available for purchase as early as March 7, and the recall was announced on March 27.

It’s important to note that this recall only pertains to the Tostitos Cantina Traditional Yellow Corn Tortilla Chips mentioned above and does not extend to any other Tostitos products, flavors, bag sizes, or variety packs. Consumers are advised to check the lot numbers of their Tostitos chips and dispose of any affected bags in order to prevent any potential allergic reactions.

As always, food safety is paramount, and Frito-Lay is taking the necessary steps to ensure the well-being of its customers. For more information on the recall and affected lot numbers, individuals can visit the FDA’s website or contact Frito-Lay directly. Stay informed and stay safe when it comes to your snacks.
