Tracy Wolfson’s March Madness photo with Florida’s Oliver Rioux goes viral

Olivier Rioux, the 7-foot-9 center for the Florida Gators, may not be seeing much playing time during the NCAA Tournament, but his towering presence has definitely caught the attention of many. A recent viral post by CBS Sports reporter Tracy Wolfson showed just how massive Rioux is compared to the average person, with Wolfson standing next to the giant center. The post garnered a lot of attention, with many joking about the logistics of Rioux and his fellow tall player, Tacko Fall, getting on a plane.

Rioux, who is officially the world’s tallest teenager, has been turning heads for years with his incredible height. Standing at 6-foot-1 by the age of 8 and 6-foot-11 by sixth grade, Rioux has always been head and shoulders above his peers. After the Gators’ victory in the SEC tournament, Rioux went viral once again for effortlessly cutting down the net without the need for a ladder.

Despite redshirting his freshman season in Gainesville, Rioux is expected to make a bigger impact on the court next season. He made the decision to redshirt in order to focus on his development rather than receiving minimal playing time as a non-scholarship athlete. Rioux remains dedicated to his training and is eager to make a significant contribution to the team in the future.

In a recent interview with the Associated Press, Rioux expressed his commitment to his growth as a player, stating, “It’s been a process. I feel good about it. I feel like I’ve been doing a tremendous job in terms of lifting. Obviously, practicing is a bit different. You’re not playing as much as you want to, but you still got to show up and practice as much as they want me to.”

With Rioux’s impressive stature and dedication to his craft, it’s clear that this young center has a bright future ahead of him in the world of basketball.
