Vanna White will remain on Wheel of Fortune after pay dispute handled
Vanna White, co-host and letter-revealer on “Wheel of Fortune,” has inked a two-year contract extension, Deadline disclosed on Tuesday. The new agreement ensures that White will continue her tenure on the long-running game show through the 2025-26 seasons. Variety reports that she will spend at least two seasons alongside incoming host Ryan Seacrest, as current host Pat Sajak is set to retire after concluding his 41st season on the show.
While the specifics of the deal remain confidential, earlier reports from TMZ in June suggested that White had considered exiting the show if her $3 million annual salary wasn’t significantly increased to approach Sajak’s $15 million. However, in July, a sign of easing tensions between White and the show’s producer, Sony Pictures Television Studios, came when she agreed to continue her role on “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” for a reported fee of $100,000 per episode, a sum still considerably less than Sajak’s estimated $400,000-plus per episode.
HuffPost has reached out to White for comment on the new contract.
Ryan Seacrest, who will be assuming hosting duties from Sajak, has expressed enthusiasm about working with White. Prior to the contract being finalized, Seacrest said, “I love Vanna White. I’ve known her for a long time. We’ve been seated together at significant events. I eagerly look forward to the possibility of stepping onto that stage and co-hosting with her.”
