WATCH LIVE: President Trump Delivers Remarks at Business Roundtable Quarterly Meeting | The Gateway Pundit

President Trump is set to address the Business Roundtable Quarterly Meeting on Tuesday at 5 pm ET. The board includes prominent figures such as Apple CEO Tim Cook, JPMorgan Chase leader Jamie Dimon, GM chief Mary Barra, and Walmart CEO Doug McMillon, as reported by CNBC.

The meeting comes at a time when financial markets are experiencing a prolonged sell-off. The Dow Jones Industrial Average saw a decline of over 700 points as of 1:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday, before recovering some losses. The uncertainty on Wall Street revolves around Trump’s fluctuating stance on tariffs, particularly concerning Canada and Mexico. Despite calls for clarity from the business community, Trump has remained steadfast in his tariff plans, disregarding fears of escalating into a trade war.

In a sudden move on Tuesday morning, Trump announced an increase in tariffs. Following Ontario’s promise to retaliate against Trump’s actions by raising taxes on electricity exports to the U.S., Trump vowed to double tariffs on Canadian aluminum and steel imports promptly.

Earlier on Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confronted a misleading question from an AP reporter regarding Trump’s tariffs, which were portrayed as a “tax hike.” Leavitt clarified, “Tariffs are a tax hike on foreign countries that have been taking advantage of us. Tariffs are a tax cut for the American people, and the President strongly supports tax cuts.”

President Trump is expected to highlight the strength of the U.S. economy during his address, showcasing the impact of tariffs and the nearly 2 trillion dollars in U.S. manufacturing investments over the past seven weeks. Additionally, Elon Musk announced plans to double Tesla’s production in the U.S., attributing it to President Trump’s favorable policies and his confidence in America.
